PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Program Educational Educational 目标 for BSCE

After 3 to 5 years, graduates of the B.S. in Civil Engineering program are valuable and responsible practicing professional engineers.

Program Educational Educational 目标 for MSCE

The goals and objectives of the graduate program in Civil Engineering are to prepare graduate students for careers in professional practice and research and for further study toward doctoral degrees in civil engineering.

STUDENT OUTCOMES

The Department of Civil Engineering has adopted the ABET 结果 as its Program 结果. These are what our graduates acquire upon completing the 加州大学洛杉矶分校 Civil Engineering Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Programs.

 

  1. an ability to identify, 制定, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, 科学, 和数学
  2. an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, 安全, 和福利, as well as global, 文化, 社会, 环境, and 经济 factors
  3. an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  4. an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, 经济, 环境, and societal contexts
  5. an ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, 建立目标, 计划任务, and meet objectives
  6. an ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
